Music

&

Monuments

Music & Monuments is a unique series combining classical music concerts with historical and architectural presentations. Based on Stafford Borough Council's 'Stafford Churches Trail', the series, over five years from 1998 to 2002, will include a performance at all twenty-eight venues. The presentations are given by local experts who have an intimate knowledge of the church while the music is performed by the 'period instrument' ensemble PLATFORM 4.

Since the first concert in May 1998 when more than 300 people attended a performance of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons the series has attracted a large and evergrowing following with many people attending all the presentations. It has also received support from the local business community attracting sponsorship from Tim Toft Violins, Staffordshire Newsletter, Stafford Reprographics, Staffordshire Historic Churches Trust,  The Bat & Bottle and Staffordshire University alongside the continuing support of Stafford Borough Council.
